Cool.  My first gaming memories were on the Zx Spectrum

My favourite games (or first games I got) were Rescue on Fractulus and Horace goes Skiiing.    I was 7 years ol d at the time and these were the best games ever(I thought at the time ).

It was when I was only 6 years old.  My friend had an Atari 2600 and I remember being invited into his house to play on it, we played Combat

A couple of  years later, I got my own Atari console, but never played combat again :(

My first gaming experience was on the NES, It came with Super Mario and Duck Hunt and yes I had the gun

    Medics

When I was a kid most games were played outside and the fact that my early footy career took up most of my time, so it wasn't until my cousin introduced me to his old 1975 Atari that I became hooked. The game that had me playing for hours was PONG. A simple two-dimensional game that had me, family and friends hooked for ours. As you can imagine, I went on to lose and occasionally win a pile of Black Jacks, conkers and my beloved Steelies and Cats Eye marbles.

So, over to you guys, how did you start the slippery slope into gaming?  Can anyone pull out an older game than Meds

The first game I can remember seeing and playing that wasn't a board game was called Mouse Trap (I think).  It had to have been in the mid-eighties and I believe my dad had a ColecoVision.  I remember you run around (a.k.a. move a colored dot) a maze avoiding a dog or chasing a mouse if you were a cat.  I think that mice were the fastest but weakest, cats in the middle, and dogs at the top but slow.  I barely remember playing this because I think we lost it when we moved from our apartment into our first house.

The first game that made an impact was Super Mario Bros.  At one point my dad and I played it together so often that my mother, who was pregnant with my sister, started to associate that song with feeling nauseous.  To this day, if she hears the first few notes of the overworld theme in Super Mario Bros., she dry heaves.  Good times.

I'll have to give a special shout-out to Gorillas - a QBasic game which was the first computer game I played.  My dad took his work computer home on the weekends - carried the whole damn thing, complete with the old CRT and eight-pound keyboard - so he could do whatever he needed to do.  He showed me Gorillas and by association QBasic which started my interest and eventually my career in tech.

I honestly don't know what the first game I played was. I had a Commodore 64 when I was at school and among the games I had were Soccer Kid, FGTH, Bruce Lee and Indiana Jones. Before that a mate of mine had an Atari VCS and one of the games he had was the infamous E.T.

I want to add something.  My first significant investment in a game was the first Dragon Warrior on NES.  I don't remember where it came from, most likely from a neighborhood kid who had moved on to the next best thing.  I spent many hours trying to figure out how things worked.  It's a classic RPG in every sense, setting a precedent for a whole franchise and genre.  I still adore the game and the simple 8-bit beep-boop soundtrack takes me back to the late 80s when I first played it.

My first memory of gaming was on an Atari 800XL

What a beauty this beast was cutting edge lol, My dad bought it and I played the one game for hrs and hrs Kik start. I still remember the noise of the loading screen and having to wait almost 2 hrs for the cassette to load or sometimes crash and have to start again. Introduced to pitfall , Bruce lee, Frogger and some wizard game i can no longer remember . God I remember thinking this is amazing . From there I went to Atari 2600 my life was defined and I had almost every console since , yes even the Saturn.
